A 37 year-old Canastota man is dead following a tragic accident late this afternoon in the village of Whitestown. According to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Department, Zechariah Lightsey was driving eastbound on Clark Mills Road when he failed to keep right, veering off the road, striking a mailbox & utility pole finally coming to rest after colliding with a home. The crash happened around 3:30 this afternoon. Lightsey was pronounced dead at the scene and was the only occupant in the vehicle at the time of the crash. Sheriff’s Deputies say no one in the home was injured.
