Utica Police arrested a resident of the Grand Nursing Facility after receiving a report of an assault on a nurse. According to police, the incident took place around 11:45 Saturday morning. Upon arrival, officers were informed by staff that a resident, 48-year-old Desmond Perry of Utica became agitated and grabbed a nurse’s stethoscope, pulling it down forcefully and causing significant pain and injury to the nurse. The injured nurse received treatment at Wynn Hospital. Her condition remains unknown.
Perry was taken into custody by the Utica Police Department and charged with assault.
